1. Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to the Next Career Paths website, online career development program, digital resources and in-person workshops (together, the Services). By purchasing, registering for, accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1.1 About Next Career Paths

Next Career Paths is a sole-trader career development business providing structured career education and exploration for adults considering or navigating career change. The Services may include facilitated group workshops, self-paced online learning, reflection activities and supporting resources.

1.2 Nature of the Services

The Services are designed to support reflection, career exploration, testing of possible directions and practical career development. Program content, activities, sequencing and delivery formats may be updated over time as the Services are reviewed and improved.

Participation does not guarantee a particular career, employment, income, promotion, interview, job offer or other professional outcome. Decisions about employment, education, finances and career direction remain the participant's responsibility.

1.3 Eligibility and Participation

The Services are intended for adults aged 18 years and over unless Next Career Paths expressly agrees otherwise. Participants are responsible for providing accurate information when registering and for participating in a respectful manner.

Next Career Paths may refuse or discontinue participation where reasonably necessary to protect participant safety, maintain an appropriate group environment, address serious or repeated disruptive behaviour, or comply with legal or venue requirements. Any refund or other remedy will be considered in accordance with these Terms and applicable consumer law.

1.4 In-person Workshops

Workshop dates, times, locations, inclusions and any specific participation requirements will be stated on the relevant booking page or participant communication. Next Career Paths may make reasonable changes to workshop activities or sequencing without changing the overall nature of the service.

If a workshop must be cancelled or materially rescheduled by Next Career Paths, registered participants will be contacted and offered an appropriate remedy, which may include transfer to another session or a refund.

1.5 Online Program Access

Online program access is provided for the access period stated at the time of purchase. Login details are for the individual purchaser and must not be shared. Participants must not attempt to bypass security controls, interfere with the website or online program, or access another user's account.

Reasonable maintenance, security updates or technical interruptions may temporarily affect access. Next Career Paths will take reasonable steps to restore access where an interruption is within its control.

1.6 Fees, Payments, Cancellations and Refunds

Fees are displayed at the time of booking or purchase and are payable through the nominated payment or ticketing provider. Any participant cancellation or change-of-mind policy should be stated on the relevant booking or purchase page.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Where the Services fail to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, the participant may be entitled to a remedy depending on the circumstances.

1.7 Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the workshop materials, online program content, worksheets, written resources, graphics and other original materials provided by Next Career Paths are owned by or licensed to Next Career Paths. They are provided for the participant's personal, non-commercial use.

Participants may download or print materials where that functionality is provided, but must not reproduce, sell, publish, distribute, adapt or use substantial parts of the materials to deliver another commercial service without written permission.

1.8 Participant Contributions and Group Confidentiality

Participants in group workshops may choose to share personal experiences, ideas or career information. Participants are asked to respect the privacy of others and not identify, quote or share another participant's personal information or story outside the workshop without that person's permission.

Next Career Paths will take reasonable steps to establish respectful group expectations but cannot guarantee that another participant will keep information shared in a group setting confidential. Participants should use their own judgement about what they choose to disclose.

1.9 Third-party Services and Links

The Services may rely on or link to third-party platforms, websites or tools. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy practices. Next Career Paths is not responsible for third-party content or services except to the extent required by law.

1.10 Privacy

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Next Career Paths Privacy Policy and documented data-management practices. The Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, why it is collected, where it is stored, how it is used, and how a participant can make a privacy enquiry or request.

1.11 Complaints

Questions, concerns or complaints should first be raised directly with Next Career Paths at hello@nextcareerpaths.com. Complaints will be recorded, considered fairly and responded to within a reasonable timeframe. If a consumer matter cannot be resolved directly, participants may have access to external consumer dispute-resolution options such as NSW Fair Trading.

1.12 Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated when the Services, technology, business processes or legal requirements change. The current version will be made available through the website. Changes will not remove consumer rights that apply to a purchase already made.

1.13 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in New South Wales, Australia. Nothing in this clause limits any rights a consumer may have under applicable Australian law.

2. Career Development Disclaimer

Next Career Paths provides career development education, facilitated reflection and general career exploration support. The Services are intended to help participants think through career options and identify possible next steps.

The Services do not constitute recruitment, job placement or a guarantee of employment or career outcomes.

Content and facilitator input are general in nature and do not constitute legal, financial, medical, psychological or other regulated professional advice.

Career information can change over time. Participants should independently verify information that is important to a decision, including role requirements, salaries, qualifications, labour-market conditions, visa requirements and employment conditions.

Participants remain responsible for their own career, employment, study and financial decisions and for deciding whether a particular action is appropriate to their circumstances.

Where a participant requires individual support outside the scope of the Services, they should seek an appropriately qualified professional or relevant specialist service.

Use of AI and Digital Tools

Where the program refers to or encourages the use of artificial intelligence or other digital tools, outputs should be treated as prompts for exploration rather than authoritative advice. Participants are responsible for checking accuracy, protecting confidential information and applying their own judgement before relying on generated content.

Limitation Statement

To the extent permitted by law, Next Career Paths does not accept responsibility for decisions made solely in reliance on general program content or for outcomes that depend on factors outside its reasonable control. This statement does not exclude or limit any liability, guarantee, right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
